In order to ensure technology transfer, technical assistance and training for the improvement of rice production from partners in the value chain, the Ministry of Rice Promotion and the agri-business company Syngenta have signed a memorandum of understanding, this Friday, February 19, 2021. It was in the office of Minister Gaoussou Touré, located at the Administrative City, in Abidjan-Plateau.
According to Minister Gaoussou Touré, this signature reveals all its importance. “Of course, we have signed several agreements, but the one with Syngenta was eagerly awaited in view of the points that we mentioned in terms of the development strategy which is already being studied by Syngenta,” he said.
And to add that this agreement makes it possible to solve the problem of delivery of the products which the ministry needs for an efficient rice cultivation. In addition, he says, Syngenta will supervise producers, carry out soil studies in order to advise them on suitable products.
The director of Syngenta, Franck Tokoré, thanked the Minister for this confidence placed in his company. “We are part of this kind of partnership approach because we know that to transform agriculture in Africa in the long term, we must combine the expertise and experiences of stakeholders in the field.
